Queen Camilla Could Cheer Mike Tindall on in Surprise TV Move Former Royal Butler Predicts

Mike Tindall could be heading for the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom, with King Charles’s former butler predicting that Queen Camilla would be among the royal supporters cheering him on if he signed up for the hit BBC show.

Grant Harrold, who served King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove between 2004 and 2011, believes the former England rugby international could be a natural fit for another television challenge after winning over viewers on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!.

Mike finished fourth on the ITV reality series in 2022, earning a new audience beyond the sporting world and demonstrating his willingness to take on an unfamiliar challenge.

Now, Harrold believes another high-profile television appearance could eventually be on the cards, although he does not expect the rugby star to rush back into the reality TV spotlight.

Speaking to OLBG, the former royal butler said he could easily imagine Mike competing on Strictly Come Dancing, where celebrities swap their familiar routines for weeks of ballroom and Latin dance training.

“I really could see him doing Strictly Come Dancing; I wouldn’t rule that out,” Harrold said.

He suggested the gap since Mike’s jungle appearance could explain why the sportsman has not yet taken part in another major reality show.

“I think the reason he hasn’t done it yet is that it’s too soon after I’m A Celebrity,” Harrold explained, adding that producers and Mike may prefer to leave some time before another television challenge.

However, he remained convinced that a future appearance should not be ruled out, raising the prospect of the royal-connected sportsman taking to the dancefloor.

The idea could become even more intriguing if Queen Camilla decided to support him from the audience. Mike is married to Zara Tindall, the daughter of Princess Anne, and has longstanding family connections to the monarchy.

Asked whether Camilla would enjoy watching Mike compete, Harrold suggested the Queen would be happy to show her support if he joined the BBC programme.

“Oh yes, she’d be there supporting him,” he said, predicting that she would attend at least some of the performances rather than every week.

“I guarantee she’d be in the audience, not every week, but she would absolutely be there 100 per cent. It would be fun to watch,” Harrold added.

There is, however, no announcement that Mike has agreed to join Strictly Come Dancing, and Camilla’s potential attendance remains the former butler’s prediction rather than a confirmed plan.

Harrold also floated another possibility for Mike: appearing on the celebrity edition of The Great British Bake Off.

“I can also see him doing the celebrity version of The Great British Bake Off,” he said, describing the programme as a classy option that allows participants to raise money for charity.

Whether Mike eventually chooses dancing, baking or another television challenge remains to be seen. For now, the suggestions offer a glimpse of how his popularity following I’m A Celebrity could open the door to further entertainment opportunities.
