Princess Kate Takes Key Step to Secure Princess Charlotte’s Interests Amid Big Shift
Princess Kate is taking an important role in supporting her daughter Princess Charlotte as the Wales family prepares for a major change, with Prince George expected to begin his next chapter at Eton in the coming days.
While Prince William and Kate are preparing their children for the responsibilities that come with being part of the Royal Family, they are also determined to ensure their children enjoy as normal and fulfilling a childhood as possible.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to be ready to take on their future roles “at a moment’s notice”, but sources suggest their priority remains giving George, Charlotte and Prince Louis space to develop their own interests.

“Proud” William and Kate are reportedly delighted that Charlotte “absolutely loves” the sport, with her mother described as her “number one cheerleader” whenever she takes part in matches.
The source claimed Kate “rarely misses a match”, highlighting the close bond between mother and daughter and the Princess of Wales’ continued involvement in Charlotte’s sporting development.
Charlotte is understood to have started playing netball in Year 3, with the insider claiming that Kate’s encouragement helped persuade her to give the sport a try. The young royal has apparently embraced it ever since.
“She’s been playing since Year 3 and yes, it’s her mum’s encouragement that convinced her to give it a go. And she’s a natural,” the source said, according to the report.
The insider also suggested that Charlotte’s popularity among her teammates has little to do with her royal status. Instead, the young princess is reportedly respected because of her ability and commitment on the court.
Charlotte is said to favour the Goal Attack position and is reportedly particularly effective when playing there. However, she is also understood to be capable of playing Centre and Goal Keeper when needed.
“They like her in the goal – she rarely misses,” the source claimed, adding that Charlotte and her mother continue to practise shooting goals together when they are at home.
Kate’s own sporting background is also believed to have helped her understand the importance of encouraging Charlotte and helping her build confidence through an activity she enjoys.
The source further claimed that the Princess of Wales is a “formidable defender” herself and has helped sharpen Charlotte’s skills through their practice sessions, turning their shared love of sport into another way for mother and daughter to spend time together.
