Princess Charlotte and Princess Lilibet Share a Sweet Connection Through One Special Hobby

Princess Charlotte and Princess Lilibet have something adorable in common, as Meghan Markle revealed that her five year old daughter has taken up a hobby already loved by her 11 year old royal cousin.
The unexpected connection emerged during Meghan and Prince Harry’s recent visit to Nottingham, where the Duchess joined young girls for a confidence-building event that also included a bracelet-making workshop.
As Meghan chatted with the children about the activities that made them happiest, one girl spoke about enjoying hobbies such as gymnastics and crafting, prompting the Duchess to share what Lilibet has been enjoying herself.
“My daughter’s doing gymnastics right now. She loves it,” Meghan revealed, offering a small glimpse into her daughter’s interests.
The comment was a sweet moment during the Sussexes’ public appearance, but it also highlighted a shared interest between the two young princesses, despite the distance between their parents.
Princess Charlotte, the only daughter of Prince William and Princess Kate, has long been known to enjoy gymnastics alongside other activities, including ballet.
Her father previously spoke warmly about her enthusiasm for the sport, revealing that she had developed a particular interest in gymnastics and was doing well at it.
During the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in August, William said Charlotte “loves gymnastics and ballet”, offering a glimpse into the young princess’s hobbies away from her public appearances.
Princess Kate also shared a little about the sporting interests of their youngest child, Prince Louis, eight, noting that he had been working on his own acrobatic skills.
The similarities between Charlotte and Lilibet may be a small detail, but they offer a reminder that the young cousins could have plenty of interests in common as they grow up.
Harry and Meghan’s return to Britain has prompted renewed discussion about whether their children might have opportunities to spend more time with their royal relatives, including their grandfather, King Charles.
However, a meeting between the cousins has not been confirmed, and the shared love of gymnastics does not indicate that plans for a family reunion are underway.
The Waleses and the Sussexes have continued to lead separate lives since Harry and Meghan stepped back from their roles as working royals in 2020, while questions about the wider family relationship remain.
For now, it is Meghan’s brief comment about Lilibet’s new hobby that has revealed a charming point of connection between the two girls.
Whether gymnastics could eventually become something Charlotte and Lilibet enjoy together remains to be seen, but their shared interest offers a heartwarming reminder of the family ties that exist beyond the ongoing tensions between their parents.
