Peter Phillips New Wife Harriet Reveals How Princess Kate Is Helping Her Adjust to Royal Family Life

Peter Phillips new wife Harriet has revealed that Princess Kate is becoming an important source of support as she adjusts to her new life in the Royal Family, admitting that she can turn to the Princess of Wales for advice and guidance.
The former NHS paediatric nurse married Princess Anne’s son in June after years of balancing her professional career with raising her daughter. Her marriage has brought significant changes, but Harriet is determined not to lose the values that have shaped her throughout her life.
Speaking to HELLO!, Harriet explained that her upbringing has played an important role in helping her remain grounded despite entering an unfamiliar royal environment.
“Hopefully, having my feet firmly on the ground beforehand is the most important thing. If you’ve been through tricky things, you learn who you are and you don’t get lost,” she said.
Harriet also acknowledged that adjusting to royal life would have been considerably more challenging without the support of her husband.
She credited Peter with helping her navigate unfamiliar circumstances, explaining that while royal life has always been part of his world, it represents something entirely new for her. “Peter really helps; he’s grounding, because this is his normal. This is not my normal,” Harriet admitted.
The new royal wife was also quick to praise her parents, crediting them with providing what she described as a “wholesome, stable upbringing” that continues to influence the way she approaches life.
However, it is not only the unfamiliar royal environment that has required an adjustment. Harriet revealed that building a new family together has been one of the most rewarding changes following her marriage. “The biggest one is having a new shape of a family,” she explained.
She went on to describe how wonderful it has been to have someone alongside her to share everyday experiences, adding that finding enough time for everything remains an important part of their new life.
“The biggest one is having a new shape of a family. I’m now married and that’s a pleasurable adjustment, because it’s so lovely having somebody to share life and experiences with. And trying to fit everything in!” she told the publication.
Harriet also reflected on the challenges of previously combining full-time employment with motherhood, admitting that balancing professional responsibilities and family life had not always been easy. Now, she is looking forward to creating a more balanced routine alongside Peter and their blended family.
“Peter and I are so fortunate to have such wonderful girls between us,” she said, expressing excitement about the family’s future.
She also emphasised the importance of taking things slowly, revealing that she wants to approach this new chapter with patience rather than rushing through the changes.
Among the people she feels comfortable seeking guidance from is Catherine, Princess of Wales, whom Harriet spoke about warmly when asked about their first meeting. “I can look to Catherine for advice and guidance,” she revealed.
Her comments offer a glimpse into the relationships Harriet is beginning to build within the Royal Family, while highlighting the importance of having experienced figures to turn to during such a significant life transition.
As she settles into married life with Peter, Harriet appears determined to balance her new family responsibilities with the grounded values she has carried throughout her journey.
