Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are taking a more independent approach to their royal connections fuelling speculation that their relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could face further changes as Prince William’s influence grows.

“Obviously Eugenie and Beatrice have been distancing themselves from the Sussexes lately, that’s no big secret anymore,” the source told the publication.

The insider suggested the sisters’ alleged decision was motivated by self-preservation, although neither princess has publicly confirmed that they are distancing themselves from the Sussexes.

“At the end of the day it was a decision they made from a self-preservation standpoint and it doesn’t seem like they’re looking to change that stance any time soon,” the source added.

The report also suggested that the sisters are conscious of the strained relationship between William and his younger brother, particularly as Harry continues to speak publicly about his experiences within the Royal Family.

The source described the current atmosphere as resembling The Hunger Games, portraying royal relationships as increasingly shaped by competing loyalties and the desire to protect individual positions.

“If anyone’s in a better position out of the three of them it’s probably Beatrice, on the basis that she’s kept her head down and never had very close ties to the Sussexes, unlike Eugenie,” the insider claimed.
