Princess Kate’s Team Reportedly Takes Precautions Over Meghan Markle Meeting After Near Miss Encounter

Princess Kate’s team has taken steps to avoid an unexpected meeting with Meghan Markle during the Duchess of Sussex’s UK visit following claims that the two women recently came close to crossing paths.

The latest claims have renewed attention on the strained relationship between the Princess of Wales and her sister-in-law, with reports suggesting that a reunion between the two remains unlikely for now.

Since Harry and Meghan’s reported return to Britain, there has been no publicly confirmed interaction between the Sussexes and the Waleses. Their separate schedules have also fuelled speculation about whether the families are making any progress towards repairing their relationships.

Although some observers have suggested that Kate could eventually help bridge the divide, a report in Woman’s Day paints a different picture. Citing an unnamed royal insider, the publication claims that careful planning is taking place to avoid unexpected encounters between the two women.

The report focuses on Meghan’s recent meeting with Malala Yousafzai, which took place in connection with International Day of the Girl. The encounter reportedly prompted discussion because of the possibility that Meghan and Kate could have been in the same social circles.

According to the unnamed source, the meeting location was particularly notable because Claridge’s is reportedly one of Kate’s favourite places for a discreet lunch. The luxury London hotel has also been associated with visits by William and Kate.

“Meghan’s meeting with Malala was a little too close to home for Kate,” the insider told Woman’s Day.

The source claimed that Kate spends much of her time at Windsor but suggested that the possibility of encountering Meghan at a familiar London location could be uncomfortable. However, there is no independent confirmation that Kate was concerned about the meeting or that her team changed any arrangements because of it.

The insider also suggested that William and Kate’s staff have been taking care to prevent the families from unexpectedly finding themselves at the same events or venues. Neither Kensington Palace nor the Sussexes have publicly confirmed such a policy.

The report went on to make claims about Meghan’s attitude towards a possible encounter with Kate. The source alleged that the Duchess would welcome a public meeting, although no direct evidence was provided to support that interpretation.

“She knows it would be the money shot to have her and Kate staring each other down across a restaurant,” the insider claimed.

The source further suggested that Meghan’s appearance at Claridge’s was intended to send a message that Kate’s team would have to make the effort to avoid her. These claims about Meghan’s intentions remain unverified and should not be treated as established fact.

The allegations add another layer to ongoing speculation about the relationship between the two women, which has attracted intense public attention since Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties.

However, a reported near-miss does not establish that either woman deliberately sought or avoided a confrontation. There is also no confirmed evidence that Meghan arranged her meeting with Malala to cross paths with Kate.

For now, the claims remain based on anonymous sources rather than public statements from either side. Whether the two women will meet during a future visit to Britain remains uncertain, with no confirmed plans for a reunion or private discussion.
