Prince William’s Biggest Fear About Prince Harry and Meghan Revealed as He Prepares for Future Reign
Prince William is reportedly becoming increasingly protective of the monarchy’s reputation as he prepares for his future reign, with sources claiming concerns surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle remain high on the Prince of Wales’ list of worries.
As heir to the British throne, William is understood to place considerable importance on protecting the credibility of the institution, particularly following years of controversy involving the Sussexes and former Prince Andrew.
The future King’s concerns reportedly extend beyond Harry and Meghan’s public activities following their return to Britain, with insiders claiming William is particularly uneasy about the couple potentially gaining greater access to Palace circles.
According to sources, the Prince of Wales fears that closer connections between Harry and people within the royal establishment could create complications for working members of the family and the aides supporting them behind the scenes.
“The Prince of Wales may not have the right read on his estranged brother Harry, but he and Catherine are not hypocrites,” a royal insider claimed while discussing William and Kate’s approach to protecting the monarchy.
“They work hard to project a positive image of the Firm,” the source continued, suggesting William considers maintaining public confidence in the institution particularly important as he takes on greater responsibilities under King Charles.
Despite years of strained relations, the insider suggested William has not completely ruled out eventually rebuilding trust with his younger brother. His reported feelings towards Meghan, however, are said to be considerably more complicated.
“William may eventually trust Harry again, but his view of Meghan won’t change soon,” the source claimed, indicating that the Princess of Wales’ husband remains deeply cautious about his sister-in-law following years of public disagreements.
“He believes she’s outspoken and craves the spotlight, despite complaining about media intrusion,” insiders further alleged. There has been no public confirmation from William that these comments accurately represent his personal opinion of Meghan.
Another reported concern involves Harry’s connections with people around the Palace now that the Duke is spending considerably more time in Britain. William allegedly worries that information he regards as private could eventually reach his estranged brother.
The concern is reportedly based on the possibility that conversations could travel through mutual contacts, courtiers or other connections, rather than an allegation that Harry currently has unrestricted access to confidential Palace information.
Trust between the brothers deteriorated considerably following Harry and Meghan’s departure from working royal life, with several subsequent projects exposing private disagreements and creating further difficulties between the Sussexes and the royal family.
