Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Face Fresh Popularity Blow as New Poll Reveals Record Low Support

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have suffered another setback in their public standing with fresh YouGov polling showing that both continue to face unfavourable opinions among a majority of Britons.
The findings come shortly after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attracted attention during their joint public appearances in Nottingham, raising questions about whether their return to the UK could improve their relationship with the British public.
Some historians and royal commentators had suggested that the couple might experience a rise in popularity after returning to Britain following six years away. However, the latest figures indicate that their public image has yet to see a significant improvement.
According to the reported YouGov survey, only five per cent of Britons consider Harry a working royal, highlighting how limited support remains for his return to an official role within the monarchy.
The figures also show that Harry continues to divide public opinion, with 29 per cent of respondents expressing a positive view of the King’s younger son.
That represents a four-point decline compared with July, while 60 per cent of those surveyed said they viewed the Duke unfavourably.
Meghan’s figures were even less favourable, despite her recent public appearances and efforts to connect with people during the couple’s UK visit.
Only 20 per cent of Britons reportedly expressed a positive opinion of the Duchess of Sussex, while 68 per cent said they viewed her negatively.
The figures represent a three-point increase in unfavourable views since the summer, according to the reported polling results.
Meghan’s net favourability rating reportedly fell to minus 48 in October, described in the report as the lowest figure recorded by the tracker to date.
The findings suggest that the couple’s recent appearances have not translated into a noticeable improvement in their overall popularity, despite the attention surrounding their Nottingham engagements.
Their visit attracted considerable interest, but the size of the crowds at public appearances does not necessarily reflect the views of the wider British population.
The latest polling also comes amid renewed attention surrounding Meghan’s estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr, following reports of an investigation in the Philippines into allegations that he possessed child abuse images. The allegations have not been established as fact.
However, there is no evidence in the supplied information that the investigation involving Thomas Markle influenced the YouGov results.
For Harry and Meghan, the figures underline the continuing challenge of rebuilding their public image in Britain. While their recent visit generated headlines and public interest, the latest survey suggests that winning broader support remains an uphill task.
