Princess Eugenie Reveals Daughter’s Name And First Full Photo In Heartwarming Update

Princess Eugenie has finally revealed her baby daughter’s name and shared the first full glimpse of her in a heartwarming update, delighting royal fans with a personal Instagram announcement just two weeks after welcoming the baby.

On August 17, the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson posted an adorable photograph of her little girl alongside an emotional message celebrating the newest addition to the Brooksbank family.

Eugenie revealed that she and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, had named their daughter Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank, explaining that the name carries special meaning for the family.

“Two weeks ago today we welcomed our girl to the world,” Eugenie wrote, describing the period since her daughter’s arrival as a “special, cosy and love-filled time.”

The Princess continued by explaining that the baby’s name was chosen to honour three people the couple love and admire, including her great-grandmother, whom the family continues to hold close to their hearts.

Eugenie also revealed that the name has connections to both English and Portuguese history, reflecting two places that hold particular significance for the family.

The choice of Adelaide has attracted particular interest among royal watchers. According to royal expert Rebecca English, the name was partly inspired by Queen Adelaide, who was married to King William IV.

Maria Adelaide of Portugal is also believed to have provided another historical connection to the name, further strengthening its links to Portugal, where Eugenie’s daughter was born.

The baby’s middle name Elizabeth carries an especially personal meaning for Eugenie, as it honours her late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Annina, meanwhile, appears to have a more private family connection. English suggested that the name was inspired by a personal relationship, although no further details about its meaning have been made public.

Eugenie also shared a sweet update about her older children, revealing that Augie and Ernie have already embraced their new role as big brothers.

The announcement follows Buckingham Palace’s confirmation that Eugenie and Jack welcomed their baby daughter on August 3, 2026, at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal.

The birth made Eugenie a mother of three and added another generation to the extended Royal Family. Her decision to share the baby’s name and first full photograph now gives fans a more personal glimpse into the family’s life.

The carefully chosen name appears to combine family memories, royal history and the couple’s connection to both Britain and Portugal. For Eugenie, the announcement offers a touching way of introducing her daughter to the world while keeping the focus firmly on the love and family connections behind her name.
