King Charles and Prince William’s Latest Move Leaves Prince Harry Frustrated as Family Rift Deepens
King Charles and Prince William have reportedly returned to a period of silence with Prince Harry, leaving the Duke of Sussex frustrated as tensions surrounding Charles Spencer’s controversial memoir continue to cast a shadow over the Royal Family.
Harry is said to be increasingly disappointed that his calls are allegedly no longer being put through to either his father or his elder brother, despite claims that he remains keen to rebuild relationships with his royal relatives.
The latest development comes as Harry, Meghan Markle and their children continue spending time in Britain, with the Sussexes’ return generating renewed speculation about whether the family could eventually move towards reconciliation.
William and Princess Kate have reportedly maintained a low-key approach to the Sussexes’ presence in Britain, continuing with their own public duties rather than becoming involved in the ongoing speculation surrounding Harry and Meghan.
According to a royal source cited in the latest report, however, the situation with Charles has also returned to what the insider characterised as a familiar pattern of limited communication.
“The move has left the Duke furious and frustrated as he still wants to reconcile with his royal relatives,” the source claimed, although there has been no public confirmation from Buckingham Palace or Kensington Palace about the current state of Harry’s communications with his father and brother.
The insider suggested that Charles and William are approaching the situation similarly to previous periods of tension, when Harry publicly criticised members of the Royal Family while living in California.
The source also claimed that Harry has not been regularly calling simply to maintain contact or arranging informal meetings with his father and brother, despite his public comments about wanting a closer relationship with his family.
Questions over security have meanwhile remained one of the most persistent sources of tension surrounding Harry’s relationship with Britain and the Royal Family.
The insider claimed the Palace was particularly surprised when Harry publicly complained about not receiving advance notice of the description of the Sussexes as private citizens, after the Palace had reiterated their non-working status.
Harry has repeatedly spoken about his desire to maintain a connection with Britain and has said he wants his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to know more about their family and the country where he grew up.
However, the source alleged that his return has been accompanied by renewed disagreements over security and public comments concerning his relatives.
“When he arrives, he immediately starts banging on about security, getting into public spats with his family and complaining,” the insider claimed.
The source also criticised Harry for allegedly failing to publicly express regret over the accusations and revelations contained in his memoir Spare, as well as his previous interviews with Oprah Winfrey and Netflix.
Instead, according to the same account, Harry has maintained that he is owed an apology by members of the Royal Family. These claims about Harry’s private position and the current communication between the royals have not been independently confirmed.
The renewed tension comes as Charles Spencer’s memoir has added another complicated layer to the family situation, with disputed claims about King Charles and Diana continuing to generate controversy. Harry has been publicly cleared by Spencer of involvement in writing the book, meaning the Duke’s relationship with his uncle should not automatically be interpreted as an endorsement of its claims.
For now, there is no confirmed indication that Charles or William has permanently cut ties with Harry. But if the reported silence continues, it could make the Duke’s hopes of rebuilding a closer relationship with his father and brother considerably more difficult, particularly as the Royal Family prepares for a period of intense attention surrounding Diana’s 30th death anniversary in 2027.
