Princess Charlotte’s College Plan In Works As Prince George Marks Eton First Day
Prince William and Princess Kate’s attention is already turning towards important plans for Princess Charlotte as they have successfully guided Prince George through another major milestone after he begins life at Eton College.
William and Kate appeared delighted as they accompanied their eldest son to Eton for his first day on Tuesday, marking the beginning of an important new chapter for the 13-year-old future King.
George reportedly took part in introductory sessions alongside his fellow pupils, giving him an opportunity to familiarise himself with his new surroundings before officially beginning his classes on Wednesday.
The young Prince appeared confident and happy during the milestone occasion, suggesting he was comfortable with the transition despite the considerable attention surrounding his arrival at the prestigious school attended by both William and Prince Harry.
With George’s secondary education now settled, speculation is increasingly turning towards Charlotte. The 11-year-old Princess will eventually face a similar decision, and reports suggest William and Kate have already considered several prestigious schools.
One institution reportedly emerging as a particularly strong possibility is Marlborough College in Wiltshire, where Kate herself studied before eventually attending university and meeting William.
Marlborough had previously been discussed as a possible destination for George before Eton ultimately emerged as the choice for the future King. It could now become particularly significant when William and Kate make their decision concerning Charlotte.
Daily Mail royal editor Rebecca English revealed that the Prince and Princess of Wales have looked at several potential options while considering the future educational needs of their children.
“The couple have been spotted checking out a number of boarding schools across the county, including Oundle in Northamptonshire and the princess’s own alma mater, Marlborough,” English shared while discussing their search.
However, the royal editor indicated that Marlborough has long appeared more likely to be considered for Charlotte than George, potentially allowing the young Princess to follow directly in her mother’s educational footsteps.
“Although sources have indicated that the latter has always been a more likely choice for their daughter, Princess Charlotte,” English explained, identifying Kate’s former school as a potential front-runner in the discussions.
Nevertheless, Kensington Palace has made no official announcement confirming where Charlotte will continue her education, meaning reports surrounding Marlborough or any other school remain speculation until William and Kate reveal their final decision.
The Waleses are expected to maintain the same cautious approach used with George’s education, keeping arrangements private for as long as possible rather than allowing prolonged public discussion to overshadow their children’s school lives.
If Marlborough is eventually selected, Charlotte would take a different educational path from her father and elder brother while sharing an important connection with Kate. For now, however, William and Catherine can focus on George settling into Eton before another major schooling decision arrives for their family.
