Prince Harry and Meghan Accused of Casting Shadow Over William and Kate’s Emotional Family Milestone
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been accused of creating fresh uncertainty over Prince William and Princess Kate’s emotional milestone involving their eldest son Prince George.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s reported return to Britain has once again placed the family at the centre of intense media attention, with one royal commentator claiming the timing could prove particularly difficult for William and Kate.
Speaking to Fox News, royal commentator Kinsey Schofield said she had “tremendous sympathy” for the Prince and Princess of Wales as they prepare for an important change in their family life.
Prince George is reportedly due to begin at Eton on September 8, marking the start of a significant new chapter for the young royal and his parents.
The milestone also means that William and Kate’s recent Scottish summer holiday was reportedly their final extended break together before their eldest child begins his first term away from home at boarding school.
Schofield described the occasion as “a huge emotional milestone” for the Wales family, with George’s move representing a major change for William, Kate and their three children.
However, the commentator argued that Harry and Meghan’s presence in Britain could bring renewed attention and unpredictability at a time when the Waleses would reportedly prefer to focus on their family.
Schofield accused the Sussexes of bringing the “circus back to town,” claiming that their reported return could once again draw William and Kate into headlines even if Harry and Meghan attempt to maintain privacy around their own children.
The Sussexes have reportedly vowed to “lay low” during their time in Britain and are said to have assured King Charles that they do not intend to disrupt major royal events.
Nevertheless, Schofield argued that the unpredictability surrounding Harry and Meghan could still create difficulties for William and Kate during George’s important transition.
“What I think will be particularly difficult for William and Catherine is the unpredictability,” Schofield said while discussing the Sussexes’ reported return.
She added that Harry and Meghan have previously made independent plans that generated significant media attention and operated outside what she described as the traditional royal structure.
According to the commentator, Prince George deserves the opportunity to begin this important new chapter without becoming caught up in renewed speculation surrounding his uncle and aunt.
Schofield argued that William and Kate have worked hard to provide George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis with stability and privacy, particularly as the children grow older and take on an increasingly visible role within the Royal Family.
“They would have preferred this important family moment to happen without the Sussex circus playing out in the background,” she added, while another royal commentator, Richard Fitzwilliams, claimed the Royal Family could face further pressure if unexpected developments surrounding Harry and Meghan emerge during their reported stay in Britain.
Fitzwilliams claimed Harry was still seeking an apology and continued to have concerns surrounding his security arrangements, while the Sussexes have reportedly assured King Charles that they will not hijack or derail major royal occasions, including Prince George’s first day at Eton.
