Harry has already returned to public duties since the Sussex family arrived back in Britain, revealing that he, Meghan, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are gradually settling into their new routine despite an “eventful” start.

The Invictus Spirit Gala Dinner & Awards on Thursday appeared to provide a natural opportunity for Meghan to step back into the spotlight alongside her husband, given the importance of Invictus to the couple.
Instead, Harry attended the event without Meghan, prompting further questions about when the Duchess intends to make her first carefully watched public appearance following the family’s return.
According to a source close to Meghan cited by commentator Rob Shuter, the Duchess is deliberately taking things “incredibly slowly” because she remains conscious of her difficult previous experiences with sections of the British media.
“She hasn’t forgotten how brutal things became the last time she lived here,” the source claimed. “Before she steps in front of British cameras again, she needs to feel completely comfortable being back.”
The insider suggested Meghan is fully aware that her eventual appearance will attract considerably more attention than an ordinary engagement because it will effectively mark her public return to Britain.
“Her first appearance will be photographed, dissected and debated around the world,” the source said, explaining why Meghan allegedly does not want to rush into making a public appearance simply because an opportunity becomes available.
According to the report, Meghan believes she effectively has one chance to make her first major comeback appearance and therefore wants to choose both the occasion and timing carefully.
The source claimed she “knows the stakes and isn’t rushing anything,” suggesting that her absence from Harry’s Invictus event should not necessarily be interpreted as reluctance to resume public activities in Britain.
Instead, Meghan reportedly wants her return to coincide with something significant for the Sussexes. “She’d rather step out when the Sussexes have something important to announce or promote,” the insider explained.
“Meghan knows exactly how much attention that first appearance will generate,” the source added, claiming that the Duchess is determined to “make it count” rather than allowing the moment to happen without careful consideration.
Meghan herself has not confirmed these reported plans or announced when her first official UK appearance will take place. For now, Harry is handling the couple’s most visible engagements alone while Meghan apparently waits for an opportunity she considers important enough to mark her return to the British spotlight.
