Meghan Markle Takes Decisive Step Despite Clash With Princess Kate

Meghan Markle is determined to take a hands on approach to her children’s new lives in UK even if her decision draws fresh comparisons with Princess Kate as both royal families prepare for important school milestones.

Despite the bitter rift that has separated the Sussexes and the Waleses, Thursday is expected to bring mixed emotions for both families as their children begin new chapters in their education following the end of the summer holidays.

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are set to have their first day at their unnamed British school after moving from the United States, representing a major adjustment for the young Sussexes as they become accustomed to a completely different environment.

At the same time, Prince George will reportedly begin his new chapter at Eton College, while his younger siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis return to Lambrook and start new classes, making it a significant day for both royal households.

Kate has developed a reputation as a particularly hands-on mother despite her demanding position within the royal family. The Princess of Wales has reportedly made school runs an important part of her routine with George, Charlotte and Louis whenever possible.

Meghan similarly embraced the role while raising Archie and Lilibet in Montecito. Now that the Sussex family is spending an extended period in Britain, the Duchess reportedly has no intention of abandoning the approach she followed while living in California.

However, security concerns could complicate Meghan’s plans. With Prince Harry continuing to raise concerns surrounding protection for his family in Britain, questions have emerged over how easily Meghan can carry out everyday activities such as accompanying the children to school.

Despite those concerns, sources cited by Woman’s Day claim the Duchess is determined not to allow the situation to prevent her from playing the protective and involved role she wants in Archie and Lilibet’s lives.

The transition is expected to be a “huge adjustment” for both children, and Meghan reportedly “wants to be there every step of the way as they acclimate,” rather than handing responsibility for their daily routine primarily to nannies.

“That’s the way it was in Montecito, she was a very involved school mom and despite all the cruel rumours that she was disliked by the other mothers,” the source claimed while discussing Meghan’s approach to parenting.

Her determination could inevitably lead to comparisons with Kate, given the Princess of Wales’ own reputation for prioritising her children’s school routines. However, Meghan is reportedly prepared to accept those comparisons rather than alter how she approaches her role as a mother.

“Meghan has accepted [the comparisons] and says she’s more than happy for people to see just how hands on she is with her kids,” the insider said, suggesting the Duchess is comfortable with greater attention surrounding her involvement.

The source also argued Meghan could have greater freedom than Kate because she is no longer a working royal, saying she can approach school life “as an ordinary person” without simultaneously having to balance the official royal responsibilities carried out by the future Queen.

As Archie and Lilibet prepare for their first day in a British classroom, Meghan’s reported decision appears clear: despite security concerns, comparisons with Kate and the enormous adjustment facing her children, she intends to remain closely involved and help them navigate every step of their new beginning.
