“Some people will say, ‘But they’re private citizens.’ Nonsense. Utter nonsense,” the friend said, pushing back against interpretations of the Palace statement following the couple’s return to the United Kingdom.
The source argued that Harry and Meghan’s international profile makes an entirely private existence practically impossible, irrespective of whether they officially represent the sovereign or perform duties as working members of the royal family.
“They are two of the most high-profile people in the world,” the friend continued, pointing towards the extraordinary public and media attention that continues to surround almost every significant development involving the Sussexes.
