Princess Kate Made a Heartfelt Confession About Her Eldest Son Prince George

Princess Kate has made a heartfelt confession about her eldest son Prince George as he began boarding at Eton College, revealing how eagerly she is waiting to have all three of her children back home for the half-term holiday.
The Princess of Wales shared the touching family update during a visit to a charity shop and café run by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), where she chatted with shoppers and local residents.
Denise Ashton, 68, was sitting with two friends when Kate approached their table, giving them an opportunity to ask about her children and hear a personal glimpse into family life.
Recalling the conversation, Denise said Kate told her she was looking forward to George coming home because she had missed him.
The update comes as George adjusts to life at Eton College, having begun boarding at the prestigious school last month. He is due to return home on Friday for his first extended break.
His younger siblings, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, eight, are also preparing to finish their school term at Lambrook School before joining their parents and brother for the half-term holiday.
Kate offered another glimpse of her excitement when a child told her it was their last day of school. The Princess responded warmly, saying: “My children break up tomorrow and I can’t wait to have them all home.”
The exchange offered a relatable moment from the royal mother, whose public duties often take her away from home while she balances family life with her responsibilities.
During the visit, Kate also stopped to greet catering manager Morgan Neary before being approached by a group of women keen to show her what they had found while shopping.
“Do you want to see our shopping?” the women asked, prompting an enthusiastic response from the Princess.
“Oh yes please,” Kate replied, as Essie Landsborough showed her a box containing two port sippers from her carrier bag.
The conversation soon turned to the appeal of browsing charity shops, with Kate sharing her appreciation for the unexpected discoveries that can make second-hand shopping so enjoyable.
“You never know what you’re going to find. That’s what’s so nice. It feels a bit more like a treasure hunt,” she explained.
When Essie asked whether she visited charity shops herself, Kate confirmed that she enjoyed doing so, suggesting the pastime was something she had appreciated long before becoming one of the most recognisable women in Britain.
The Princess recalled discovering numerous charity shops while studying at the University of St Andrews, where she met Prince William.
“I love going round a charity shop,” Kate said, offering a personal detail that connected her royal life with an everyday activity enjoyed by many people.
Yet it was her comments about George that provided the most touching moment of the visit, as Kate made clear how much she is looking forward to reuniting with her children and having the family together again during the school break.
