Prince William Believes Prince Harry Knew About Charles Spencer’s Explosive Diana Claims

Prince William believes his estranged brother Prince Harry knew about Charles Spencer’s explosive Princess Diana memoir before its most controversial claims became public, as the book creates another difficult moment for the Royal Family.

The forthcoming memoir, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, has already generated intense attention following the publication of its first extracts, which contain a series of deeply personal allegations involving Diana, King Charles and the wider monarchy.

The controversy comes after an already challenging period for the royals, marked by health concerns and continuing fallout surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his past association with Jeffrey Epstein.

Now Diana’s brother has brought the family’s history back into the spotlight, with his account threatening to revive painful questions about Diana’s marriage, death and the events surrounding her funeral.

An unnamed insider told Woman’s Day that Spencer had considered telling his version of Diana’s story for many years and always intended eventually to put his memories into writing.

“Earl Spencer bided his time for many years, but he always intended to put pen to paper eventually,” the source claimed, describing the memoir as a long-planned project rather than a sudden decision.

The insider added that some people were surprised Spencer waited so long before publishing the book, but claimed the delay had not reduced his determination to present a “warts-and-all account” of his sister.

The same source went further by characterising Spencer’s decision as an attempt at “revenge” on Diana’s behalf. There is no confirmation from Spencer that revenge against Charles or the monarchy motivated him to write the memoir.

According to the report, William is particularly unhappy about the timing and nature of the allegations, with the insider claiming the Prince of Wales is “disgusted” that his uncle has chosen to publicly target his father.

Charles is continuing his duties while undergoing cancer treatment, adding another sensitive dimension to claims that revisit some of the most difficult episodes from his marriage to William and Harry’s mother.

The report also alleges William suspects Harry may have known more about Spencer’s plans than has publicly been acknowledged and believes his brother could be privately supportive of their uncle’s decision to speak out.

However, there is no evidence presented that Harry helped Spencer produce the memoir or encouraged attacks against Charles. Separate reports have claimed Harry knew what was contained in the book and discussed it with his uncle before publication.

The Woman’s Day source argued that the revelations were creating “unnecessary conflict” and placing the monarchy in an extremely difficult position, while suggesting the dispute would also have distressed William and Harry’s late grandparents.

Harry has not publicly sided with Spencer against his father, while William has not personally confirmed the feelings attributed to him. For now, the claims expose another potential fault line between the brothers: not only over their relationship with each other, but over how Diana’s complicated royal history should be told.
