Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly suffered another privacy setback involving Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet just days after privacy concerns forced the couple to make an unexpected change to their children’s new school arrangements.
Archie and Lilibet had only just begun their new term in Britain when Harry and Meghan decided to move them elsewhere, despite reports that both the children and their parents had been extremely happy with the original school.
The Sussexes previously explained that the decision followed discussions with their security team about logistical difficulties surrounding the daily commute, rather than concerns about the standard of care provided by the school.
Now, another issue has emerged after screenshots from a parents’ WhatsApp group reportedly circulated outside the private chat, revealing messages involving Meghan and potentially exposing the personal phone number she used to join the group.
According to The Sun, Meghan had joined the parents’ WhatsApp conversation the evening before Archie and Lilibet were due to begin their first day, apparently preparing to become part of the school community.
Screenshots reportedly showed two mothers welcoming the Duchess. One message read, “Welcome to Meghan who has Archie joining tomo,” while another parent simply responded, “Welcome!!”
Meghan reportedly replied warmly to the introductions, writing: “Hi moms! Thanks for the warm welcome [heart emoji] So happy to be a part of this community xx.”
The messages themselves were ordinary exchanges between parents, but their alleged circulation outside the group has raised concerns because private messaging groups can contain contact details and other information not intended for wider distribution.
Harry and Meghan have declined to comment publicly on the reported leak. However, sources close to the couple reportedly described the development as disappointing, particularly given their longstanding concerns surrounding family privacy.
The incident emerged shortly after the Sussexes’ spokesperson confirmed that Archie and Lilibet were leaving their initial school following consultations with the family’s security professionals about the practicalities of their arrangements.
Reports indicated heavy traffic during the school run made it difficult for the Sussexes’ protection vehicles to remain together in convoy, creating an operational problem for those responsible for keeping the family secure.
“You can’t have a situation where the fifth, sixth and seventh in line to the throne are trapped in a car,” a source told the outlet while explaining why the daily journey had reportedly become problematic.
There was no suggestion that Archie and Lilibet faced a specific threat inside their original school. Indeed, Harry and Meghan previously stressed their gratitude towards its teachers and staff and made clear that the move should not reflect negatively on the institution.
Nevertheless, the reported WhatsApp leak adds another complication to the Sussexes’ attempt to establish an ordinary routine for their children in Britain. Within days of starting school, Harry and Meghan have faced both logistical security difficulties and the reported circulation of a private family-related exchange beyond its intended audience.
