Prince Harry and Meghan Face Fresh Archie and Lilibet Decision as King Charles Reunion Looms
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are facing a difficult decision over Archie and Lilibet as King Charles is said to be preparing for a possible reunion with his grandchildren during the Christmas period.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are understood to be weighing their family’s future between California and Britain, with their children’s schooling making frequent travel increasingly complicated.
According to reports, King Charles has been added to a diary plan involving Harry and Meghan as the possibility of a Sandringham reunion draws closer, although the exact arrangements have not been publicly confirmed.
The potential meeting has renewed attention on the relationship between Charles and the Sussexes, particularly because Archie and Lilibet could play an important role in bringing the King and his son closer together.
Harry and Meghan previously indicated that they intended to retain their Montecito property while spending periods in Britain, allowing their children to maintain connections with both sides of the Atlantic.
However, the arrangement may become more difficult as Archie and Lilibet grow older and their education creates a greater need for stability and routine.
A source cited by Heat Magazine claimed the couple are now facing difficult choices because the children cannot simply move repeatedly between California and the UK whenever circumstances change.
“With the kids in school, they can’t keep bouncing between California and the UK whenever they feel like it,” the source claimed, adding that Harry and Meghan were allegedly “not on the same page” about their next steps.
The source also claimed Meghan continues to feel a strong attachment to her life in California, particularly because of her friends, familiar routine and close relationship with her mother, Doria Ragland.
“She misses her friends, she misses her day-to-day routine and she really misses her mom,” the source said, claiming Meghan speaks to Doria several times a day but misses having her nearby.
That could make any extended stay in Britain more complicated for Meghan, while Harry has continued to maintain strong connections with the UK through his charitable work and appearances.
For Archie and Lilibet, however, the decision could carry another important consequence. Remaining in California would allow them to maintain their established school routine and regular relationship with their maternal grandmother, while spending Christmas in Britain could give them valuable time with Charles.
The possibility of a meeting has therefore placed the Sussex children at the centre of renewed speculation about whether the wider family could gradually rebuild its relationships.
Rob Shuter has separately claimed that any meeting between Charles and Harry would not happen casually, saying that “nobody drops in on the King” and suggesting that an encounter would have to be deliberately arranged.
There has been no official confirmation of a Christmas invitation, a Sandringham arrangement or a final decision by Harry and Meghan about where the family will spend the holidays.
If the reported plans do materialise, Archie and Lilibet could nevertheless become an important reason for Charles and Harry to spend time together, potentially creating a more personal setting for a relationship that has remained strained for years.
