King Charles Appears in High Spirits Ahead of Archie and Lilibet Milestone
King Charles appeared in notably high spirits as they marked a historic occasion with the royal engagement coming just as the family prepares for a significant personal milestone involving the monarch’s grandchildren Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Despite ongoing friction between the royal family and the Sussexes, Charles is understood to have responded positively to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s reported move back to Britain for an extended period. The King is also said to be delighted about having his grandchildren closer to him.

The Palace continued: “Thank you for the historic loan, France – and for the latest magical stitch in a story that has bound our two nations together through history,” reflecting on the longstanding relationship between the neighbouring countries.
Charles appeared healthy and particularly happy during the engagement as he interacted with those attending. His appearance is likely to reassure royal watchers who continue to follow the monarch closely as he carries out his public responsibilities.
The timing of the engagement is also notable given the reported developments involving Harry and Meghan’s family. Archie and Lilibet are expected to start at a British school soon, representing a major change after spending their childhood years in the United States.
Having the Sussex children living closer could also provide Charles with more opportunities to see his grandchildren, although no official details have been provided about how frequently the King is expected to spend time with Archie and Lilibet during their stay.
The reported return of Harry and Meghan has not erased the tensions that have surrounded the Sussexes and other members of the royal family in recent years. Nevertheless, Charles is understood to have welcomed the prospect of having his younger son and grandchildren closer.
