Prince Harry’s Quiet Gesture For Princess Eugenie Emerges After Baby Adelaide’s Arrival

Prince Harry has reportedly maintained a close relationship with his cousins Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie despite the deep divisions within the Royal Family, but questions have now emerged over whether he should have offered more visible support to Eugenie during a difficult period.

Eugenie has long been regarded as one of the royal relatives closest to Harry and Meghan Markle. She and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, have reportedly maintained contact with the Sussexes even when relations between Harry and other members of the family were at their lowest.

It has also been suggested that Eugenie made an effort to remain close to Harry and Meghan during their difficult years in Britain and after their move to the United States. Their relationship has therefore continued to attract attention among royal watchers.

Nothing has been officially confirmed, but reports have suggested that Harry and Meghan recently took their children to Portugal, where they may have spent time with Eugenie and her family shortly before the birth of her daughter, Adelaide.

The reported meeting would have given Harry an opportunity to privately support his cousin as she prepared to welcome her third child. Eugenie has since announced the name of her newborn daughter, with the arrival providing another happy moment for her family.

Royal reporter Alicia Liberty, however, questioned whether Harry could have gone a step further by publicly acknowledging his bond with Eugenie. Writing for Express UK, she suggested that a visible gesture from Harry might have meant something to his cousin during an emotionally challenging period.

Eugenie and Beatrice have faced difficult circumstances surrounding their parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson. The controversy surrounding their family has placed both sisters under considerable public scrutiny and has contributed to their retreat from the spotlight at various points.

Liberty argued that Harry’s apparent lack of a public gesture was difficult to overlook, particularly because Beatrice and Eugenie have continued to be associated with the Sussexes despite the wider royal tensions.

However, the reporter also acknowledged that the absence of a public message does not necessarily mean Harry failed to support his cousins. She suggested that he may well have contacted both sisters privately during the difficult period surrounding Andrew.

Families, after all, do not necessarily need to make every private conversation public. Harry could have offered congratulations, checked on Eugenie’s wellbeing or expressed his support without sharing any of those moments with the public.

That possibility becomes particularly important because a public statement from Harry could easily have attracted unwanted attention. With Eugenie heavily pregnant at the time, even a seemingly supportive message could have been interpreted through the lens of the ongoing Sussex-Royal Family tensions.

Harry and Meghan have frequently found themselves at the centre of intense media scrutiny, meaning almost any public interaction with a member of the Royal Family can quickly become a subject of speculation.

For Eugenie, keeping their relationship private may therefore have been the more considerate choice. Rather than turning the birth of her daughter into another discussion about royal divisions, Harry could have chosen to offer his congratulations away from the cameras.

The Sussexes are also believed to have maintained a personal bond with Eugenie and Jack over the years, making a private message particularly plausible even though there is no public confirmation of what was exchanged between the families.

With Adelaide’s arrival now giving Eugenie and her family a new reason to celebrate, the focus can hopefully remain on the newborn rather than old royal disputes. Harry’s reported decision to keep his support private may ultimately have protected his cousin from unnecessary attention.

While questions may continue over whether Harry should have made a public gesture, there is no evidence that he ignored Eugenie during this important moment. If the Sussexes did privately congratulate her, it would fit with the close relationship the cousins have reportedly maintained away from the public eye.
