Princess Charlotte is preparing to take on a more prominent role within the Wales family as her older brother, Prince George, gets ready to leave home for boarding school at Eton and begins an important new chapter.
George, who is second in line to the throne, is set to follow in the footsteps of his father, Prince William, by starting at the prestigious Berkshire school in September.
His departure will naturally bring changes to family life, with Charlotte expected to have a greater presence alongside her parents and younger brother, Prince Louis.

The young royal has also been dubbed a “natural leader,” with the source suggesting that she enjoys being trusted with greater responsibilities within the family.
Charlotte’s confidence has been particularly noticeable during recent public outings, where she has appeared increasingly assured while carrying out engagements alongside William and Princess Catherine.
Her growing maturity could become especially important once George begins his new life away from the family home, as Charlotte may naturally become the eldest Wales child present during many family occasions.
The young princess is also expected to play an important role in supporting her younger brother Louis, who will remain at home while George begins boarding school.
An insider claimed that Louis is still being carefully protected by his parents and is being allowed to grow up in an environment that is as “normal as possible” despite his place within the Royal Family.
However, the seven-year-old is gradually becoming more aware of his unusual family circumstances, including the fact that his grandfather, King Charles, is the monarch.
“He’s going to miss his brother, but is following Charlotte’s lead and being strong and brave,” the source said.
