Prince William and Princess Kate Send Special Palace Message After Princess Charlotte’s Milestone
Prince William and Princess Kate have sent a special message through Kensington Palace thanking a royal well wisher for celebrating Princess Charlotte’s milestone, offering a sweet update about their daughter’s milestone day.
The message was revealed by Lydia Alty, who regularly follows the Royal Family’s engagements and had previously written to the Prince and Princess of Wales to wish Charlotte a happy birthday.
Charlotte, the second child and only daughter of William and Kate, celebrated her 11th birthday on May 2, with her parents marking the occasion publicly through new family content.
Months later, Alty shared the response she received from Kensington Palace, giving royal followers another glimpse at how the Waleses acknowledged the birthday wishes sent to their daughter.
“Thank you for writing to celebrate Princess Charlotte’s 11th birthday,” the Palace message began, directly acknowledging Alty’s correspondence about the young royal.
The message then included a brief but touching detail about Charlotte’s celebration, confirming that the Princess had enjoyed the special occasion with her family.
“Princess Charlotte had a wonderful day, and your message was very much appreciated by Their Royal Highnesses, who send you their very best wishes,” it read.
The correspondence provides a personal touch from William and Kate, who have frequently used birthday photographs and family videos to give the public carefully selected glimpses into their children’s lives.
For Charlotte’s birthday in May, the Prince and Princess of Wales released a new portrait showing their daughter outdoors and surrounded by greenery and daisies.
Charlotte appeared relaxed as she posed for the camera, continuing the Wales family’s tradition of releasing informal photographs to mark important birthdays for Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
The family also shared video footage featuring Charlotte enjoying time with the Waleses’ dogs and playing cricket, revealing another side of how the young Princess spends time away from formal royal appearances.
William and Kate have generally attempted to balance their children’s privacy with their increasingly prominent positions within the Royal Family. Charlotte occasionally joins her parents at major national and royal occasions but otherwise maintains a relatively private childhood.
As the daughter of the future King, Charlotte remains one of the most recognisable young members of the monarchy. She is third in the line of succession, behind her father Prince William and older brother Prince George, while younger brother Louis follows her.
The latest Kensington Palace message may be brief, but it gives supporters a warm update months after Charlotte’s birthday celebrations. By confirming that their daughter had a “wonderful day” and personally sending their best wishes, William and Kate have once again acknowledged the public affection surrounding the young Princess while keeping the details of her family life largely private.
