Meghan Markle’s Close Ally Kris Jenner Steps In With Major Sussex Boost Despite Previous Grievance
Meghan Markle’s increasingly close ally Kris Jenner reportedly helped Prince Harry and the Duchess secure a potentially crucial Amazon deal for the Invictus Games, despite the awkward fallout surrounding photos from Jenner’s 70th birthday celebrations.
The reported intervention comes at an important moment for Harry and Meghan following what the Duke himself described as an “eventful” return to Britain with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The Sussexes have faced several challenges since returning, including Palace guidance reaffirming their position outside the working Royal Family and continued uncertainty surrounding Harry’s security arrangements.
There has also been speculation about Meghan potentially returning to acting, although none of the reported projects surrounding the former Suits star has so far developed into a confirmed major comeback.
Harry, meanwhile, has been concentrating heavily on the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham, which reportedly faced a significant funding challenge after losing an important sponsor.
Reports suggested organisers needed approximately £20million to cover costs, making the possibility of Amazon becoming involved an especially significant development for Harry’s flagship project.
Now, a source speaking to Rob Shuter has claimed Jenner played an important behind-the-scenes role by using her connections to help bring Amazon into discussions.
“Kris didn’t just know both sides — she had their trust,” the source claimed. “Meghan needed help. Kris had Lauren’s ear, and Lauren had Jeff’s. One conversation led to another, and suddenly Amazon was at the table.”
The account appears to refer to Lauren Sánchez Bezos and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, although neither Amazon nor the Invictus Games Foundation has publicly confirmed that Jenner brokered the reported arrangement.
A Hollywood source nevertheless described the alleged intervention as typical of Jenner’s famous ability to build connections and turn relationships into major opportunities.
“This is classic Kris Jenner,” the source said. “She knows who needs what and exactly who can deliver it. Meghan needed a powerful new partner, and Kris knew precisely which door to knock on.”
The reported assistance is particularly notable following an uncomfortable episode surrounding Jenner’s 70th birthday celebration, where photographs involving Harry and Meghan became the subject of attention after being shared around Remembrance Day.
The images were subsequently removed after the Sussexes reportedly requested their deletion because of the sensitive timing. The episode fuelled suggestions of tension, particularly given Jenner’s carefully managed public image.
However, the latest claims suggest any grievances surrounding that incident have not seriously damaged Jenner’s relationship with Meghan. If she did help connect the Sussexes with figures close to Amazon, it would indicate their friendship remains valuable behind the scenes.
The exact value and scope of any Amazon agreement have not yet been officially announced, and claims that Jenner personally made it happen remain based on unnamed sources. Still, with Invictus representing one of Harry’s biggest priorities since returning to Britain, the reported deal could provide the Sussexes with a significant boost when they need it most.
