Meghan Markle Receives Surprise Offer to Host a Show on Her Favourite British Radio Station
Meghan Markle has received a surprise offer to host a show on her favourite British radio station with Prince Harry promising that he would take the idea home to his wife following a playful exchange at the WellChild Awards with presenter Gaby Roslin of Magic Radio.
Harry was speaking to the easy-listening station during Monday’s ceremony, one of his latest engagements since returning to Britain with Meghan and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Questions have been growing about what Meghan could do professionally during the family’s renewed time in the UK, with speculation already linking the former Suits actress to possible television and acting opportunities.
During her recent British stay, Meghan has also been photographed enjoying a more relaxed social life, including a pub outing with her friend Ellen DeGeneres and Ellen’s wife, Portia de Rossi.
However, Roslin unexpectedly presented Harry with another possibility while interviewing him at the WellChild event: a potential broadcasting role for Meghan at Magic.
“Do you want a show on Magic? … Your wife could do a show on Magic. She loves Magic,” Roslin joked with the Duke.
Harry immediately confirmed his wife’s affection for the station, responding: “She does love Magic. That’s true.”
When Roslin asked what kind of programme Meghan might like to present, Harry admitted the couple had never discussed the possibility. “We haven’t talked about it. I can take this back to her,” he said.
Roslin then enthusiastically suggested a “Christmas show,” turning the lighthearted exchange into an unexpected invitation that Harry could now potentially relay to Meghan.
Meghan’s fondness for Magic is well documented. During her Netflix series With Love, Meghan last year, she told Queer Eye star Tan France that the radio station was among the things she missed most about Britain.
“Honestly, one of the things I miss the most about the UK is the radio station called Magic,” Meghan said. When France jokingly described it as “such a grandma station,” the Duchess laughed and replied: “I’ll be that grandma.”
Harry’s interview also moved onto a more serious subject as he discussed families caring for seriously ill children and argued that communities should provide greater practical support.
“I think we have to do better as a society,” Harry said, suggesting people had become “very insular,” while acknowledging that his years away from Britain meant his assessment might not fully reflect current life in the country.
The Duke encouraged people to support neighbours caring for seriously ill children, saying parents sometimes simply need someone trusted to help so they can have a day or evening to themselves. “Community. That’s what it’s all about,” he said. Whether Meghan accepts Roslin’s playful Magic proposal remains to be seen, but Harry has at least promised to take the unexpected UK offer back to her.
