Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Hit With Brutal Verdict After ‘Cookie Queens’ Setback

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been handed a brutal verdict following the reported box office disappointment of Cookie Queens, with royal commentator Kinsey Schofield suggesting that their increasingly strained relationship with the Royal Family may have become a professional liability.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to the entertainment spotlight with Cookie Queens, on which they served as executive producers through their production company Archewell Productions.

However, the project reportedly failed to generate the level of commercial success that might have been expected from a production carrying the Sussexes’ names, adding to questions about their future in the entertainment industry.

The latest setback has prompted Schofield to offer Harry and Meghan some direct advice about their next professional move. Rather than announcing another string of projects, she believes the couple should temporarily step away from the spotlight.

“I would tell them to disappear professionally for a little while, dramatically reduce the number of announcements, and identify one genuinely compelling project with experienced people around them who know how to execute it,” the royal commentator told Page Six.

Schofield argued that the Sussexes do not necessarily need another major rebrand or publicity campaign to improve their position. Instead, she believes their focus should shift towards producing fewer projects and ensuring those projects are successful.

“Reputation recovery is possible, but I don’t think it comes from another rebrand or another glossy publicity campaign,” she said.

“I would recommend the opposite. Less talking, fewer announcements and more execution,” Schofield added, suggesting that a quieter professional strategy could ultimately work better for the couple.

The comments come as Harry and Meghan continue to pursue separate projects across entertainment, charitable work and lifestyle businesses. Their California-based career has generated enormous publicity since they stepped away from royal duties, but maintaining that attention has become increasingly challenging.

At the same time, Harry appears to be making renewed efforts to rebuild his relationship with his father, King Charles. The Sussexes’ recent meeting with the monarch at Highgrove has raised hopes that the long-running family dispute could gradually ease.

Schofield believes the timing of Harry and Meghan’s renewed contact with the Royal Family may be significant. She suggested that the couple could now recognise that their fractured royal relationships have consequences beyond their personal lives.

“I suspect that they understand that their fractured relationship with the royal family has become a professional liability,” she claimed. The argument suggests that the Sussexes’ royal connections remain an important part of their public profile, even after several years of building an independent life in the United States.

Harry and Meghan have repeatedly attempted to establish identities outside the monarchy, with projects ranging from documentaries and interviews to lifestyle ventures. Yet their royal history continues to be one of the biggest sources of public fascination surrounding them.

A quieter period could therefore give the couple an opportunity to concentrate on the quality of their work rather than the number of announcements surrounding it. Instead of constantly remaining in the headlines, they could allow a successful project to speak for itself.

Their reported box-office setback may ultimately prove to be a valuable warning about the difference between generating publicity and creating sustained audience demand. If Schofield’s assessment is correct, the Sussexes’ next major decision may be not what they announce, but what they choose to hold back.

With Harry simultaneously attempting to repair family relationships and Meghan continuing to develop her independent career, the couple now face a crucial period. Whether they can turn the latest setback into a reset could determine the direction of their professional future.
