Meghan Markle Faces Possible Pub Ban As Old Jeremy Clarkson Row Resurfaces After UK Return
Meghan Markle could reportedly find herself added to Jeremy Clarkson’s list of unwelcome guests at his Cotswolds pub after the Duchess chose another venue for a meeting with friends Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, reigniting attention around her longstanding row with the television presenter.
The Duchess of Sussex recently returned to Britain with Prince Harry and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as the family establishes a new routine following years based primarily in California.
During her time in the Cotswolds, Meghan was spotted meeting close friend Ellen and her wife Portia, but the group reportedly chose The Three Horseshoes near Burford rather than Clarkson’s nearby pub, The Farmer’s Dog.
That choice has attracted attention because of the bitter history between Meghan and the former Top Gear presenter, although there is no evidence the Duchess selected the alternative venue specifically to make a statement against him.
Clarkson previously faced widespread criticism over a newspaper column about Meghan in which he referenced a humiliating scene from Game of Thrones. He later apologised for the controversial remarks.
Now, insiders said to be close to the television personality have suggested Meghan could potentially find herself added to a tongue-in-cheek list of people reportedly barred from The Farmer’s Dog.
The pub’s reported banned list has attracted publicity of its own, with several well-known names and even ordinary customers previously becoming part of Clarkson’s jokes and public commentary surrounding the venue.
Reports have claimed the list includes political figures as well as Clarkson’s former television colleagues James May and Richard Hammond, alongside a customer named Maddy Hornby following a complaint involving the availability of Tabasco.
Against that colourful background, suggestions that Meghan could become the latest name on the list have inevitably revived memories of Clarkson’s previous public criticism of the Duchess.
Some observers have interpreted Meghan’s decision to visit another Cotswolds pub as deliberate, suggesting she would have little reason to spend time at a venue belonging to someone who had previously written such strongly criticised remarks about her.
However, Meghan has not explained why The Three Horseshoes was selected for the meeting, and there is no confirmation that she considered visiting The Farmer’s Dog in the first place.
The reported possibility of a “ban” also appears to come from insiders and speculation rather than a confirmed announcement from Clarkson or the pub itself. Meghan therefore has not been formally established as a banned customer.
The renewed attention comes as Harry and Meghan’s UK return continues to generate headlines, particularly over their security arrangements and the decision to move Archie and Lilibet to another school following practical concerns surrounding their original commute.
For now, Meghan’s Cotswolds outing has brought an old feud back into the spotlight rather than confirming a new confrontation. Unless Clarkson formally adds the Duchess to his pub’s banned list, claims of a fresh showdown remain speculation surrounding two public figures whose previous disagreement was already well documented.
