Prince Harry Reveals How Archie and Lilibet Feel About New UK School After Sudden Move
Prince Harry has revealed how Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet feel about their new school in UK after the children faced an unexpected change just two days into their original school term because of security and travel concerns.
Harry and Meghan Markle’s children had initially started at another school following the Sussex family’s return to the UK for an extended period, but the arrangement reportedly proved difficult almost immediately.
According to earlier reports, Archie and Lilibet were pulled out of the school after only two days following concerns surrounding the practicalities of getting them there safely each morning.
Heavy traffic along the route reportedly made it difficult for the family’s security convoy to remain together, while what should have been approximately a 30-minute journey could stretch to around an hour during rush hour.
The situation prompted Harry and Meghan to reconsider the arrangement, eventually resulting in Archie and Lilibet being moved to another school that was considered more practical for the family.
Now, Harry has offered a rare personal update on how his children are adjusting, indicating that the sudden disruption has not prevented them from settling into their new surroundings.
The Duke spoke about family life while talking with a reporter after completing a daring skydive outside Toronto on Friday.
“It’s been great. It’s been great to be back on British soil,” Harry said when discussing his return, before joking about his recent jump: “It’s great to be back on terra firma, actually!”
He then turned to Archie and Lilibet and gave a reassuring update about their experience following the change of schools.
“The kids are happy in school, and it gives me a chance to really focus on Invictus in Birmingham,” Harry said, providing one of his clearest updates yet on how the children are adapting to their new routine.
Harry also noted that the next Invictus Games will take place in July next year, meaning his family’s new arrangements could allow him to concentrate more closely on preparations in Britain.
A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess previously confirmed that security considerations had played a role in the decision to change the children’s school.
“The decision for the children to move schools was taken following a discussion with the family’s security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements,” the spokesperson explained.
The move had initially raised questions about how Archie and Lilibet would cope with another major change after relocating from their familiar life in California. Harry’s latest comments, however, suggest the children have settled into their new school successfully, giving the Duke and Meghan some reassurance as their family establishes a new routine in Britain.
