Prince William Won’t Stop Until King Charles Takes Major Action Against Prince Harry and Meghan’s Title
Prince William is said to be refusing to give up his push for King Charles to take tougher action over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal titles, with a source claiming the future King intends to keep raising the sensitive issue with his father.
According to Heat World, the Prince of Wales believes the Sussexes continuing use of their titles while remaining outside the working monarchy creates a problem that Charles must eventually address.
The report claims William has urged his father to consider removing the couple’s titles, although no such decision has been announced by Buckingham Palace and the Sussexes remain the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
It has also been alleged that William influenced the firm Palace guidance issued following Harry and Meghan’s return to Britain, which reaffirmed their status outside the working Royal Family.
There has been no official confirmation that William personally drove that guidance, and the Sussexes’ non-working status stems from the arrangements established after they stepped back from official royal duties.
Nevertheless, the latest insider claims William has become increasingly persistent behind closed doors and is prepared to continue discussing the matter with Charles.
“Prince William is not going to stop pushing until the King agrees to take away their titles,” the source claimed, describing the issue as a source of tension between father and son.
“He hates that he has to constantly raise the issue with his father; it’s caused a lot of strife between them,” the insider continued, claiming William believes his position is necessary to protect the monarchy.
According to the source, the Prince remains deeply affected by the public criticism of the Royal Family that followed Harry and Meghan’s departure, including their interviews and Harry’s memoir Spare.
The report also attempted to draw a comparison with William’s reported approach towards Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, claiming the Prince previously pressed Charles to take a harder institutional line.
“When he’s got something in his sights, he won’t give up,” the insider alleged, arguing that William intends to demonstrate similar persistence when dealing with the Sussex question.
“For years, he was telling Charles he needed to take his titles and get tough,” the source claimed, before adding that William now plans to “work on his father every day if needed.”
The claims have not been confirmed by William, Charles or Buckingham Palace, and there is no official announcement indicating that Harry and Meghan are about to lose their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles. Any alteration to royal titles would also involve constitutional and legal considerations beyond a simple private request from William.
