Queen Camilla and Princess Anne Make Surprise Move as King Charles Pushes for William and Harry Reunion
Queen Camilla and Princess Anne are reportedly backing King Charles’s plan to bring Prince William and Prince Harry together for a special tribute to Princess Diana, raising fresh hopes of a family reconciliation ahead of the 30th anniversary of her death.
According to a report by New Idea, Charles is considering a small, official service to honour his first wife in 2027, with the proposed gathering potentially providing an opportunity for their estranged sons to reunite after years of tension.
The reported plan comes as renewed controversy surrounding Earl Spencer’s memoir, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, has brought painful chapters of Diana’s life and her relationship with the Royal Family back into the headlines.
Diana, who was affectionately known as the “Queen of Hearts,” remains one of the most recognisable figures in modern royal history, and discussions about her life continue to attract considerable public interest.
The breakdown of her marriage to Charles was one of the most difficult periods for the monarchy, and the latest memoir has reignited debate over events surrounding their relationship and the aftermath of her death in 1997.
Against that backdrop, the proposed anniversary service is reportedly being viewed as an opportunity to shift attention away from old disputes and towards Diana’s lasting place in the family’s history.
An unnamed source told New Idea that Charles believes a gathering centred on family and faith could help ease some of the tensions that have developed between his sons.
“He figures there’s a chance of calming down some of the anger by reminding those boys of family, kids and God,” the source claimed, adding that the King wants all of Diana’s grandchildren to attend.
That would potentially include Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, alongside Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, although no official guest list has been announced.
Camilla and Anne are reportedly supporting the idea, with the source suggesting that both women want the family to present a more united front as the anniversary approaches.
Their alleged involvement would place the Queen and the Princess Royal in supportive roles behind Charles’s efforts to improve relations between William and Harry, whose relationship has remained strained for years.
The insider claimed Charles believes the situation has reached a critical point and that he is determined to pursue reconciliation for the sake of the next generation.
“Charles is at the point of no return with Harry and William – he’s going all-in on a reconciliation for the sake of his grandkids,” the source said.
However, a potential service would not necessarily mean the brothers are ready to put their differences aside. William has reportedly been reluctant to participate in projects that could place him and Harry in the middle of another public dispute over their mother’s legacy.
The King is nevertheless said to believe that his sons may eventually recognise the value of repairing their relationship, with the source claiming he hopes William will one day appreciate having his brother’s support.
There has been no official confirmation that Charles has approved the proposed service, or that Camilla and Anne have been formally tasked with arranging a reunion. The reported plan remains speculation rather than an announced royal initiative.
If the proposal moves forward, Diana’s 30th anniversary could become a significant moment for the family, not only to remember the late Princess, but also to test whether a shared tribute can create an opening for William and Harry to come together after years apart.
