Princess Kate Turns to King Charles Strategy As Prince Harry and Spencer Row Puts Pressure on Prince William
Princess Kate is reportedly urging Prince William to follow King Charles’ strategy of silence as tensions involving Prince Harry and Charles Spencer place growing pressure on her husband behind Palace doors.
William and Kate have continued appearing composed during their public engagements, recently putting on wide smiles for the cameras despite renewed controversy surrounding the Royal Family.
Behind the scenes, however, a Woman’s Day insider claims the Prince of Wales is struggling with the pressure created by several sensitive family issues unfolding at the same time.
“William is a man on the edge right now; you can practically see the stress vibrating off of him; it’s terrible,” the unnamed source claimed.
The insider suggested William has several concerns on his mind, including his father, his future responsibilities as monarch and uncertainty surrounding what Harry may do next.
“He’s worried about his father, he’s worried about the future of the monarchy, he’s worried about what his brother is going to do next,” the source said.
Another source of alleged frustration is Charles Spencer’s newly released memoir, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, which has reopened painful questions surrounding Princess Diana and contains disputed claims involving the King.
Reports have also speculated about a possible alliance between Harry and his uncle, although there is no confirmed evidence that the pair are coordinating a campaign against the Royal Family.
According to the report, William is deeply unhappy about the situation and has allegedly used the word “traitors” while discussing Harry and Spencer, though the private remark has not been independently confirmed.
Charles, meanwhile, appears to be moving towards a quieter strategy after Buckingham Palace initially took the unusual step of responding directly to one of Spencer’s allegations.
A Palace source has since claimed the King has no intention of responding to every allegation and instead intends to concentrate on his duties rather than becoming involved in an extended public exchange.
That approach has reportedly encouraged Kate, who is said to believe William would benefit from following his father’s example. “Kate is begging William to follow his father’s lead and keep the peace,” the insider claimed.
“She says they can’t get caught up in this ugly mess; they need to stay focused on protecting the Crown and remaining dignified representatives,” the source continued, adding that Kate is doing everything possible to help her husband remain calm.
Neither Kensington Palace nor Buckingham Palace has confirmed the private conversations described by Woman’s Day, and claims about William’s emotional state should therefore be treated as insider allegations rather than established fact.
Still, the report presents Kate as favouring Charles’ strategy of restraint, with the Princess reportedly encouraging William to avoid being drawn further into the dispute involving Harry and Spencer.
