King Charles changes course and decided not to respond to any further allegations from Charles Spencer after his Palace statement challenging one of the Earl’s claims appeared to fuel even greater attention around the explosive Princess Diana memoir.

According to a Palace insider, senior royals were divided over whether Buckingham Palace should have responded at all to the claims contained in Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, which was released on September 22.
