Charles Spencer’s next move revealed as he is allegedly planning to remain firmly in the public spotlight even after releasing his explosive Princess Diana memoir, with a new report claiming the Earl is already considering his next move following the enormous attention surrounding the book.
Spencer has become the centre of renewed royal discussion ahead of the release of Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, which contains a series of deeply personal and disputed recollections involving his late sister and King Charles.
Although the memoir has yet to be released in full, extracts have already generated headlines and even prompted Buckingham Palace to make the unusual decision to respond publicly to some of Spencer’s claims.
Among the most striking allegations is Spencer’s recollection that Charles behaved as though he had “won the lottery” during a conversation following news of Diana’s death.
The Earl has also brought Prince William and Prince Harry into the discussion, revealing that the information contained in his memoir would not come as a surprise to either of Diana’s sons.

Now, gossip columnist Rob Shuter has claimed that Spencer does not intend to retreat from the attention once the immediate publicity surrounding Swan Song begins to settle.
According to Shuter, a source claimed the Earl “is absolutely loving this,” suggesting the extraordinary level of interest in Spencer himself has created a very different experience for Diana’s younger brother.
“For most of his life, Diana was the Spencer everyone wanted,” the unnamed insider claimed. “Now the microphones are pointed at him. He’s making headlines around the world, and he doesn’t want that attention to disappear.”
The source suggested that Spencer has spent much of his public life being viewed primarily through his connection with Diana, whereas the response to his memoir has placed his own voice and recollections at the centre of attention.
“Charles could walk into a room and still be Diana’s brother,” the insider continued. “Now people are showing up specifically to hear Charles speak and that feels very different.”
Shuter further claimed that Spencer is considering what comes next and may continue making public appearances rather than quietly stepping away once the promotional period surrounding his memoir concludes.
There is currently no confirmation from Spencer himself that he is deliberately planning further controversies, and claims about his motivation for remaining in the spotlight come from unnamed sources rather than the Earl directly.
Nevertheless, with Swan Song still awaiting its full release and Spencer continuing to defend his recollections, attention surrounding Diana’s brother may be far from over. Any further interviews or revelations could keep the Palace facing uncomfortable questions about a painful chapter of royal history.
