King Charles office has announced James Earl of Wessex’s next major step in life with the young royal preparing to begin university shortly after Prince George starts his new chapter at Eton.
James, the 18-year-old son of Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie, has achieved the grades required to secure his place at the Royal Agricultural University, where he will study Rural Land & Property Management.
Royal commentator Rebecca English shared the news on social media, revealing that James will head directly to university rather than taking a gap year.
“Having achieved the grades he needed, the Earl of Wessex will be going to the Royal Agricultural University to study Rural Land & Property Management,” English wrote: “He will head straight there without taking a year out,” she added.
The announcement marks an important milestone for James as he prepares to move into higher education and begin developing his own interests away from the more formal aspects of royal life.
His parents, Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie, are expected to be delighted by their son’s achievement as he prepares for the next stage of his education.
