Palace Reacts To Martha Stewart’s Meghan Markle Comments After King Charles Meeting

The Palace has reacted to Martha Stewart’s comments about Meghan Markle, with insiders claiming her remarks about the Duchess have raised concerns following Meghan’s private meeting with King Charles.

Meghan’s recent appearance at a dinner party in California, where lifestyle personality Martha Stewart was also present, has reportedly attracted attention after Stewart made comments about Meghan having recently returned from “the Palace.”

Last month, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, reportedly met with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House. Buckingham Palace acknowledged that the meeting had taken place but did not reveal further details about the private reunion.

The meeting was reportedly arranged with considerable care, with Charles said to have personally orchestrated the encounter in an effort to avoid unwanted attention. Harry and Meghan were also reportedly expected to keep the details of the reunion private.

However, Stewart’s latest comments have now fuelled speculation about whether the private meeting was discussed beyond the small group of people who were aware of it.

According to claims cited by commentator Rob Shuter, Stewart’s remarks have allegedly caused “alarms” to go off within Palace circles. One alleged insider claimed the Palace was particularly concerned because the dinner party was not necessarily made up of Meghan’s close friends.

“This wasn’t an intimate gathering of close friends. Meghan was a guest at someone else’s dinner party, surrounded by people she barely knew, yet the royal meeting was already part of the conversation,” the source claimed, adding that the Palace was “concerned.”

Stewart had reportedly revealed that Meghan had “gotten back from the Palace” and said she did not speak to the Duchess for more than a few words. However, the lifestyle personality suggested she was aware that Meghan had been talking about her recent experience.

Those comments have inevitably raised questions about what Stewart actually meant. While her reference to the Palace may appear significant, there is no clear evidence that she was referring specifically to the Sussexes’ reported reunion with Charles and Camilla at Highgrove.

There is also another possible explanation. Stewart had returned from a summer holiday in Europe, meaning her comments could have been based on an assumption or general conversation rather than information directly connected to a confidential royal meeting.

Crucially, no specific details from inside the reported Highgrove reunion have emerged. Public reports have focused largely on the circumstances surrounding the meeting rather than providing confirmed information about what Charles, Harry or Meghan actually discussed.

The alleged source claimed that the purpose of the reunion was to “build trust” between the two sides. If accurate, any suggestion that information was circulating outside the small group involved could naturally cause concern among those attempting to protect the fragile progress.

“It is the royal family’s ‘greatest fear’ to have private moments become public conversation,” the source reportedly claimed, suggesting that discretion was considered particularly important following years of intense scrutiny surrounding the Sussexes.

“In Hollywood, conversations have a way of traveling much farther than intended,” the insider continued. “If someone who barely interacted with Meghan knew she’d been with the King, imagine what everyone else at that table heard.”

Despite the claims, Martha Stewart’s comments do not by themselves prove that anyone leaked confidential information about the meeting. It remains unclear exactly what she was referring to, and there has been no public confirmation from Buckingham Palace that it is investigating any alleged breach of privacy.

For King Charles, the reported meeting with Harry, Meghan, Archie and Lilibet was believed to represent an important opportunity to rebuild trust and strengthen family ties. Whether Stewart’s remarks were based on something she genuinely heard or simply an assumption remains uncertain.

The situation nevertheless highlights just how carefully private royal family meetings can be handled. With Charles reportedly hoping to improve his relationship with the Sussexes, maintaining discretion around future encounters could be essential if the family is to continue making progress away from the public spotlight.
