Princess Anne Could Step In As King Charles Faces Harry And William Tensions
Princess Anne could reportedly play a key role in easing tensions between Prince Harry and Prince William as the Duke of Sussex prepares to spend an extended period in the United Kingdom with Meghan Markle and their children.
The Sussexes are reportedly moving to a private, non-royal residence outside London for an “extensive period,” while Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are expected to begin school in Britain in September.
The development could bring Harry much closer to his father, King Charles, who is reportedly pleased about having his grandchildren nearby. However, it could also create uncomfortable situations because of the continuing rift between Harry and William.
The Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex have reportedly remained estranged for more than four years. Their relationship was further damaged by Harry’s memoir, Spare, as well as his numerous interviews and public discussions about life inside the Royal Family.
William is understood to have struggled to move beyond those revelations, meaning Harry’s return could present a major challenge for the brothers if they begin crossing paths more frequently at family events.

The Princess Royal is reportedly not completely excusing Harry for his role in the breakdown of the relationship. Instead, she is said to believe that both brothers have contributed to the situation and should now make an effort to move beyond their differences.
However, the source claimed that Anne believes Harry has become “a lot more open to fixing things” than William. That could place additional pressure on the future King to consider whether continuing the estrangement is worth the emotional cost.
