Princess Anne Supports King Charles at Garden Party as Kate Misses Event
Princess Anne stepped in to support King Charles and Queen Camilla during the annual Garden Party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Scotland. The royal gathering continued one of the monarchy’s most cherished traditions while senior royals welcomed guests from across the country.
The event took place on June 30 in the historic gardens of the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh. Thousands of invited guests attended the celebration in recognition of their contributions to local communities and charitable causes throughout Scotland.

Among the special guests at the event was 17-year-old Isla Grist from Inverness. Isla lives with Epidermolysis bullosa, a rare genetic condition commonly referred to as butterfly skin because of the fragility of the skin it causes.
Isla attended the event alongside former Scotland football captain Graeme Souness on behalf of the charity Debra UK. The organisation works to support people affected by Epidermolysis bullosa while also raising awareness and funding for research.
During the event, Isla had the opportunity to personally speak with King Charles about the charity’s mission. According to her later comments, the monarch was already knowledgeable about the organisation and showed genuine interest in its work.
The teenager described meeting the King as “a great honour” and admitted she had initially felt nervous before the encounter. However, Isla said the experience quickly became a memorable and positive moment she would never forget.
Royal observers noted that King Charles appeared fully engaged throughout the Garden Party despite his demanding Royal Week schedule. The monarch’s conversations with guests highlighted the royal family’s continued focus on community and charitable causes.
