Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet Could Finally Meet Royal Cousins as Princess Kate Takes the Lead
Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet could soon get a long awaited opportunity to spend time with their royal cousins as Princess Kate reportedly considers taking the lead in bringing the children together despite the ongoing family feud.
Prince William and Prince Harry remain deeply estranged after years of tension, with reports suggesting there has been little meaningful contact between the brothers. Their damaged relationship is unlikely to be repaired within just days or weeks.
However, Princess Catherine reportedly believes the disagreement between William and Harry should not prevent their children from developing a relationship. She is said to be particularly enthusiastic about seeing Archie and Lilibet following their reported return to Britain.
According to the latest claims, Kate is “so excited to see Archie and Lilibet” and wants to “take the lead and make it feel natural and friendly for the children” rather than allowing tensions between their parents to dominate the situation.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are said to have consistently prioritised their children’s wellbeing throughout the royal tensions. They also reportedly believe there is little benefit in attempting to completely hide the complicated family situation from them.
A source cited by Woman’s Day claimed Prince George and Princess Charlotte are now old enough to understand some of what has happened between their father and uncle, making the Sussex children’s presence in Britain particularly significant.
The Waleses reportedly recognise that the situation could become “awkward” for George, Charlotte and Prince Louis if Archie and Lilibet are living nearby but remain unable to spend time with their cousins because of their parents’ disagreements.
Kate, however, reportedly has no intention of making such an important decision without William’s knowledge. “Kate would never do anything behind William’s back,” the insider stressed while discussing her reported plans.
The Princess of Wales is nevertheless said to believe she could once again act as a calming influence. The source pointed towards Kate’s reported role as a “key peacemaker” between William and King Charles, adding that “she expects this will be the same”.
Her proposed solution would reportedly involve arranging directly with Harry for the cousins to meet without William or Meghan Markle initially being present, potentially reducing the possibility of unresolved tensions overshadowing the children’s reunion.
“She wants to arrange with Harry – no Meghan or William, to keep the temperature down – for the cousins to meet, just for a couple of hours,” the source claimed about Kate’s reported approach.
Rather than arranging a highly visible royal gathering, Kate reportedly wants the first meeting to remain extremely private and relaxed. A “neutral location”, potentially the estate of a trusted friend, has reportedly been suggested as an appropriate setting.
The insider insisted that Kate “facilitating” the gathering would be entirely about allowing George, Charlotte, Louis, Archie and Lilibet to meet and enjoy time together. Keeping William and Meghan apart during the initial meetings could help ensure adult tensions remain outside the children’s relationship.
George and Charlotte are also expected to embrace the opportunity, with the source claiming they “won’t disappoint anyone with their excitement about meeting their cousins”. If Kate succeeds, the children’s reunion could provide a rare positive development while William and Harry’s own reconciliation remains uncertain.
