Meghan Markle Faces New Concern as Archie and Lilibet Prepare for UK School
Meghan Markle is facing a new concern as Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet prepare to begin new school in United Kingdom, with questions surrounding their daily school routine said to be causing anxiety for the Sussexes.
Prince Harry and Meghan have reportedly returned to the UK for an extended period with their two children, who are expected to start school in Britain as the family settles into its new surroundings.
However, one of the biggest challenges facing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is said to involve the everyday journey of taking Archie and Lilibet to and from school.
While living at their home in Montecito, California, Harry and Meghan were reportedly able to carry out regular school runs with the support of their own private security arrangements.
The situation in Britain, however, is understood to be more complicated, particularly because the family’s security arrangements are different from those available to working members of the Royal Family.
The Prince and Princess of Wales have become well known for personally taking their three children to school and continuing to handle parts of their family routine despite their prominent royal roles.
William and Kate have often been praised for maintaining a relatively hands-on approach to parenting, but reports suggest Harry and Meghan may not be able to enjoy the same freedom with Archie and Lilibet.
According to a friend of the Sussexes who spoke to The Sun, concerns about security have made the children’s school journey a particularly sensitive issue for the family.
“The school run is a tricky issue and I understand they are nervous about it,” the source said, suggesting that Harry and Meghan remain concerned about how the children will travel safely each day.
Harry’s team is reportedly working to secure some level of police protection for the Duke and his family during their time in Britain.
Until those arrangements are resolved, however, the Sussexes are said to remain worried about the safety and privacy of Archie and Lilibet as they adjust to their new school routine.
Harry and Meghan reportedly have a private residence in the Cotswolds, which is said to provide the family with a considerable amount of privacy away from the public spotlight.
The report also claimed that the Sussexes could eventually see some level of taxpayer-funded security protection reinstated, although the precise details of any future arrangements remain unclear.
Meanwhile, a Government spokesman declined to reveal further details about the protection system, saying: “It is our long-standing policy not to provide detailed information on those arrangements, as doing so could compromise their integrity and affect individuals’ security.”
