Prince Harry Reportedly Left Off Guest List For Cousin Peter Phillips Intimate Wedding
Prince Harry is reportedly expected to miss another major royal family gathering after claims emerged that he was not invited to cousin Peter Phillips’s upcoming wedding.
Peter Phillips is preparing to marry NHS paediatric nurse Harriet Sperling on June 6 in what is being described as a small and private celebration focused on close family and trusted friends.
According to a source cited by HELLO!, Prince Harry will not attend the ceremony despite previously being present at Peter’s first wedding to Autumn Phillips back in 2008.
The insider reportedly claimed that Peter and Prince Harry have drifted apart significantly over the years and no longer maintain regular contact.
“They haven’t spoken for several years and have simply lost touch,” the source explained while discussing the reported absence of the Duke of Sussex from the guest list.
A spokesperson for Peter Phillips declined to publicly comment on the reports surrounding the wedding invitations and family relationships.
The upcoming ceremony is expected to take place in the Cotswolds, a location that carries deep personal significance for Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling.
Peter and his sister Zara Tindall spent much of their childhood growing up at Gatcombe Park, the Gloucestershire estate owned by their mother Princess Anne.
Royal observers note that the wedding will likely remain deliberately low profile, reflecting Peter Phillips’ long standing preference for maintaining a more private life compared to some other members of the royal family.
Reports have also suggested that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and Sarah Ferguson are not expected to attend the event either.
The absence of several high profile royal figures is said to align with the couple’s desire for a smaller and more intimate gathering away from major public attention.
Peter Phillips has previously spoken warmly about growing up alongside his royal cousins, including Prince William and Prince Harry, during childhood holidays and gatherings at royal estates including Sandringham, Balmoral, and Windsor.
In a 2016 interview on Good Morning Britain, Peter recalled the lively atmosphere shared by the younger generation of royals growing up together.
He described how the cousins enjoyed enormous freedom across the royal estates and often created “mayhem and chaos” during family occasions.
Peter also mentioned spending time with other royal relatives including Frederick Windsor and Ella Windsor as part of a large extended family circle.
The reported distance between Prince Harry and some of his royal cousins reflects the broader changes that have unfolded within royal relationships since the Duke and Meghan Markle stepped back from senior royal duties in 2020.
While Prince Harry remains connected to parts of the family privately, public appearances alongside royal relatives have become increasingly rare over recent years.
