Brian Cox Sparks Backlash After Brutal Remarks On Margot Robbie And Quentin Tarantino

Brian Cox has once again stirred controversy after delivering a series of blunt and unfiltered opinions about some of Hollywood’s biggest names.

The outspoken star, best known for his role in Succession, did not hold back during a recent interview, where he openly criticized actors, filmmakers, and even political figures.

Among those in his firing line was Margot Robbie, who is set to play Catherine Earnshaw in a new adaptation of Wuthering Heights.

Cox questioned her suitability for the role, suggesting that Robbie is “far too beautiful” to portray the iconic character. His remarks immediately sparked debate among fans and critics alike.

Despite his criticism, the veteran actor admitted that it might ultimately turn out to be a strong film. However, his comments, including a mock impression of her accent, quickly drew attention online.

Cox did not stop there, turning his focus to acclaimed filmmaker Quentin Tarantino. He expressed clear reservations about Tarantino’s directing style and approach to filmmaking.

According to Cox, Tarantino’s films tend to reflect the director’s personality more than the performances of the actors. He contrasted this with his own belief in prioritizing the actor’s craft.

He went as far as to label Tarantino “meretricious,” a term suggesting something that appears appealing but lacks deeper value or integrity. The remark added fuel to an already heated conversation.

The actor also took aim at Kevin Spacey, his co star from the film Iron Will, calling him a “stupid” individual in a sharply worded critique.

In a surprising turn, Cox also directed his bluntness toward politics, criticizing Donald Trump. He accused Trump of acting out of self interest, particularly in matters related to global affairs.

While his comments about Trump were harsh, they aligned with Cox’s reputation for speaking candidly about issues beyond the entertainment industry.

On a more reflective note, Cox appeared to soften his stance when discussing Jeremy Strong, his co star on Succession. The two have had a history of public disagreements.

Cox acknowledged Strong’s talent, describing him as a good actor, while also hinting that he wanted to avoid further controversy on that front.

Despite the backlash his comments often generate, Cox made it clear that he has little interest in holding back. Approaching his 80th birthday, he emphasized his desire to speak freely.

His unapologetic attitude continues to divide audiences, with some praising his honesty and others criticizing his harsh tone. Either way, his latest remarks have once again ensured he remains firmly in the spotlight.
