Meghan Markle Won’t Make UK Permanent Home Despite Return With Prince Harry and Children
Meghan Markle will not permanently settle in UK despite her extended return to the UK with Prince Harry and their two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have returned to Britain with their children for an extended period, with their latest move sparking fresh interest in how the family plans to divide its time between the UK and California.
However, Meghan is reportedly not prepared to abandon the entrepreneurial ambitions she has built in the United States. The Duchess continues to focus on her lifestyle brand, As Ever, and is expected to maintain her professional commitments.
According to royal expert Alison Boshoff, Meghan is unlikely to make Britain her permanent home despite the Sussexes’ current plans. Her comments suggest that the former Suits actress could continue travelling between the two countries for work.
Speaking on the Daily Mail’s Palace Confidential podcast, Boshoff said Meghan is expected to be “to and fro” between America and Britain because of her professional commitments, meaning she could spend periods of time away from Harry and their children.
The royal commentator also addressed speculation surrounding Meghan’s potential return to acting, appearing to suggest that people should not overstate her enthusiasm for making a major comeback to the entertainment industry.
“I think you’d be foolish to overstate her enthusiasm to go back to acting,” Boshoff said, explaining that Meghan has other ambitions she wants to pursue beyond returning to her previous career.
Meghan’s producing ambitions also appear to remain part of her plans. Boshoff pointed out that while some of the Sussexes’ projects have faced difficulties, there are still projects in development and their production company continues to operate.
“As Ever, it isn’t yet a complete failure,” the royal expert said, while noting that Meghan still has producing projects in development and that the couple’s company is “not bust.”
Meanwhile, the Sussexes are reportedly keen to maintain their family traditions in California despite spending more time in Britain. Their Montecito home is expected to remain an important part of their family life.
Boshoff claimed that Harry and Meghan are planning to return to Montecito during the children’s school holidays. She specifically identified Christmas as the first major holiday when the family is expected to head back to their California home.
“I’m told that the plan is to go back to Montecito in the school holidays; the first one coming up is Christmas,” Boshoff said, suggesting that the family could continue moving between Britain and the United States.
The arrangement would allow Archie and Lilibet to spend an extended period in Britain while also giving them the opportunity to return to the California lifestyle they have grown accustomed to with their parents.
Boshoff described the reported arrangement as “wise and sensible” and suggested that there is no intention for the Sussexes to deliberately create controversy through their movements between the two countries.
“I think it’s really wise and sensible. I think from what I’m told, there is no desire to be provocative,” she said, indicating that the family’s travel plans are primarily focused on balancing personal and professional commitments.
Meghan’s reported plans suggest that the Sussexes’ return to Britain does not necessarily signal the end of their life in America. While Harry and Meghan may spend more time in the UK with Archie and Lilibet, Meghan is expected to continue travelling to the US to pursue her business interests and maintain the family’s connection to Montecito.
