Meghan Markle Faces Unexpected Challenge From Former Best Friend After Bombshell Move
Meghan Markle has received an unexpected challenge from her former close friend Jessica Mulroney after the Canadian stylist announced a major new business venture that could potentially place her in competition with the Duchess of Sussex’s lifestyle brand, As Ever.
Mulroney, who previously worked as Meghan’s stylist and was once known as one of her closest friends, has raised eyebrows with the launch of her own lifestyle venture as both women pursue projects aimed primarily at female audiences.
The Canadian stylist’s new brand is called “The Haus of Her” and was established in June 2026. Its launch comes as Meghan continues developing As Ever, creating an interesting overlap between the former friends’ ventures.
According to its website, The Haus of Her aims to “help women rediscover themselves through powerful connections, elevated experiences and communities designed to inspire growth, confidence and transformation,” revealing the broader vision behind Mulroney’s latest project.
The venture will also move beyond online content by offering experiences for its community. One upcoming event, called “Make your scent,” is scheduled to take place at Orris Labs in Toronto on September 15.
Subscribers are also expected to receive curated monthly boxes, adding a product-based element to the venture. The move could invite comparisons with Meghan’s own lifestyle ambitions as the Duchess continues building the identity and offerings associated with As Ever.
The development is particularly notable because of Mulroney’s complicated history with Meghan. Their friendship stretches back to the Duchess’s years in Canada, long before Meghan became a member of the British royal family through her marriage to Prince Harry.
Before leaving acting in 2017, Meghan played Rachel Zane in the legal drama Suits. Mulroney reportedly helped the future Duchess with fashion looks associated with her character, demonstrating the close professional and personal connection they shared at the time.
Their relationship continued as Meghan’s life underwent a dramatic transformation following her romance with Harry. Mulroney was also involved in Harry and Meghan’s high-profile royal wedding in 2018, further highlighting how close the two women had become.
However, reports of difficulties in their friendship began emerging in 2020 following Mulroney’s public feud with Canadian influencer Sasha Exeter. The controversy subsequently fuelled speculation that Meghan and her longtime friend had experienced a significant falling-out.
Mulroney later attempted to address speculation surrounding her relationship with the Duchess. She shared a social media story indicating that reports claiming she had fallen out with Harry’s wife were false, although the post was subsequently deleted.
Despite that denial, speculation surrounding the state of their friendship continued, particularly as the two women were no longer publicly associated with one another in the same way they had been during Meghan’s earlier years.
Now, Mulroney’s move into the lifestyle space could bring renewed attention to their history. Although there is no evidence that The Haus of Her was created specifically to compete against Meghan, similarities in their lifestyle-focused ambitions could inevitably spark comparisons.
With Mulroney preparing events and monthly curated offerings while Meghan continues building As Ever, the former friends have unexpectedly found themselves operating in overlapping territory, adding another intriguing chapter to a relationship that once saw the Canadian stylist standing closely beside Meghan during some of her biggest life moments.
