Prince Harry’s Special Surprise for Prince William at Milestone Celebration Revealed
Prince Harry once went the extra mile to make Prince William’s milestone celebration unforgettable, with a special gesture that reportedly highlighted the close bond the royal brothers once shared.
The moment came ahead of William and Catherine’s fairytale royal wedding in 2011, when the future King prepared to marry Kate Middleton after years of growing closer to his longtime partner.
Before the couple exchanged vows on April 29, 2011, Harry was given an important responsibility: organising his older brother’s stag weekend. According to details revealed years later, the Duke of Sussex took the task seriously and threw himself into creating a memorable celebration.
In his biography William and Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story, author Russell Myers revealed details about the private festivities that took place in the weeks leading up to the couple’s historic wedding.
The weekend-long celebration was reportedly held at Hartland Abbey, the north Devon home of William’s friend George Stucley, with around 20 of the future King’s closest friends joining the festivities.
Harry reportedly arranged a packed schedule for the group, ensuring that his brother and his friends had plenty of activities to enjoy during the milestone weekend.
According to Myers, the group spent part of the weekend learning to surf near a secluded cove known as Speke’s Mill, before Harry organised shooting activities on the estate and a series of drinking games.
The celebrations were reportedly filled with plenty of humour as well, with William even being made to wear a rather unusual costume during the stag festivities.
Myers revealed that William was “forced to dress up in a wig and apron with fake chest hair,” adding another amusing memory to the brothers’ long history of shared jokes and celebrations.
At the time, Harry and William were widely viewed as extremely close brothers who had remained united through some of the most difficult periods of their lives. Their relationship had been shaped by experiences that few other siblings could fully understand.
The loss of their mother, Princess Diana, when the brothers were still young brought them even closer, with William and Harry becoming important sources of strength for one another as they dealt with the tragedy.
Their bond continued to be visible in the years that followed, as the brothers frequently appeared together at royal engagements and shared lighthearted moments in public.
