Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have touched down in UK with Archie And Lilibet returning to the country they left behind six years ago as they reportedly prepare for an extended stay with their children.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived at Birmingham Airport around lunchtime on Wednesday, according to The Telegraph, marking a significant moment as the family begins what could be a new chapter in the UK.
Harry and Meghan reportedly travelled from the United States aboard a private jet, choosing a spacious aircraft that offered the family greater comfort and privacy during their international journey with their young children.
The aircraft is understood to be capable of carrying up to 13 passengers and can reportedly be configured for overnight travel, making it suitable for a long-distance journey between Los Angeles and Britain.
Inside, the private jet is said to feature plush leather seating, two bathrooms equipped with branded amenities and a separate sofa area where passengers can relax during the flight.
The aircraft also reportedly offers substantial luggage capacity, with room for around 15 suitcases. However, even that amount of space may prove insufficient if Harry and Meghan are preparing to spend a considerable period in Britain with Archie and Lilibet.
The Sussexes are reportedly expected to send additional belongings separately as they establish a UK base for their family. Their decision to bring more possessions could indicate that this visit is being planned differently from a short royal engagement or family trip.
The luxurious journey is also believed to have carried a significant price tag. A private international flight between Los Angeles and Britain can reportedly cost between £150,000 and £200,000, depending on the aircraft used and the arrangements made for the trip.
Harry and Meghan’s choice of private aviation also has a connection to their previous departure from Britain. The couple travelled aboard a private jet when they left for North America in 2020 after stepping back from their roles as senior working royals.
That earlier journey later featured in their Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan, giving viewers a glimpse inside the aircraft as the couple travelled away from Britain with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, and their dogs.
The documentary showed the family enjoying the privacy offered by the aircraft, including individual spaces where their pets could settle comfortably during the journey across the Atlantic.
Six years later, the circumstances surrounding Harry and Meghan’s flight are notably different. Rather than leaving Britain to begin their life in North America, they have now reportedly returned with their children as they prepare to spend a much longer period in the country.
