Prince Harry Sets Record Straight With Mike Tindall During Candid New Podcast Chat

Prince Harry appeared to set the record straight following Mike Tindall’s recent remarks as the Duke of Sussex made a surprising admission during a podcast. The lighthearted interview offered Harry an opportunity to joke about rugby stars while reflecting on his personal life.

The Duke of Sussex appeared in high spirits throughout the conversation, which was recorded during his recent visit to the United Kingdom. The episode formed part of his efforts to promote the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.

During the interview, former competitor and broadcaster JJ Chalmers asked Harry who the most famous person was in his phone contacts. The question prompted an unexpected answer from the Duke.

“Probably Dylan Hartley or James Haskell. You’ve seen them play rugby?” Harry replied, naming the two former England internationals.

Co-host Jake Bhardwaj responded by praising the players, saying they made rugby worth watching. Harry joined in the playful exchange with another humorous remark.

“And good-looking guys as well,” the Duke joked, drawing laughter from the podcast hosts.

Harry’s comments attracted attention because they came just two months after Mike Tindall made a joke about him during an appearance at the Hay Festival. Tindall had been discussing James Haskell’s behavior during his wedding to Zara Tindall in 2011.

While recalling the occasion, the former England rugby player joked that others had handled the event much better than Haskell, adding, “Harry, when he was fun.”

Although Harry did not mention Mike Tindall directly during the podcast, some commentators viewed his relaxed discussion about Haskell as a subtle response to the earlier remark.

Podcast host Joe Marler, who played alongside both Dylan Hartley and James Haskell during his rugby career, laughed about the exchange and joked, “There’ll be a heavy edit on this episode, of which I don’t actually have any control, but thank you for that, H.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Harry described himself as a “full-time dad, British Army veteran, Prince of England, duke” before joking about how he should introduce himself. He also responded humorously when asked what people most commonly misunderstand about him.

“That I’m not ginger,” Harry quipped before playfully insisting his hair color was “more sort of like… sunset… auburn.”

The podcast appearance followed Prince Harry’s recent visit to the UK, where he, Meghan Markle, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet held a private family meeting with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House. The reunion marked an important family occasion after years of estrangement.

Although other senior members of the Royal Family, including Prince William, Princess Kate, Princess Anne, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, and Zara Tindall, were not present, the Highgrove gathering represented a significant opportunity for King Charles to spend time with his son and grandchildren. Harry’s latest interview, meanwhile, showcased a lighter side of the Duke as he mixed humor with reflections on family, rugby, and life beyond royal duties.
