Prince Harry’s Decision Reportedly Strained Meghan Markle’s Early Royal Bond

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have long spoken about their struggles within the royal family, but new claims suggest that some early tensions may have been shaped by Harry’s own actions.

The couple, who stepped back from royal duties after years of reported grievances, had previously expressed frustration over how Meghan was treated compared to other senior royals. These concerns date back to the period leading up to their 2018 wedding.

Much of this tension was described by Harry in his memoir Spare, where he detailed disagreements and misunderstandings within the palace. However, new insights indicate that there may have been additional factors at play behind the scenes.

According to accounts linked to Angela Kelly, a trusted confidante of Queen Elizabeth II, certain key moments before the wedding may have unfolded differently than previously understood.

One such moment involved the traditional process of selecting a royal wedding tiara. Typically, the Queen would invite the bride privately to view a curated selection, creating a personal and bonding experience.

This tradition had reportedly been followed with Sophie Rhys Jones and Catherine Middleton, both of whom shared a warm connection with the late monarch during their preparations.

However, according to Kelly’s account, Meghan’s experience differed. It is claimed that Harry accompanied her to the tiara selection, an unusual move that may have disrupted what was typically a more intimate interaction.

Insiders reportedly questioned why Harry was present, suggesting that such meetings were usually reserved for the bride alone. While Harry later indicated it was a joint invitation, this has been disputed by palace sources.

Another reported issue arose during preparations for the wedding day itself, particularly involving the tiara Meghan would wear. She ultimately chose Queen Mary’s Diamond Bandeau, a historic piece requiring careful handling.

There were discussions about arranging a trial to ensure everything went smoothly, but complications reportedly emerged when access to the tiara was delayed. This led to frustration within the Sussex camp.

Harry is said to have believed that the Queen supported an early trial, but Kelly reportedly insisted that the request could not be accommodated at that time. The disagreement added further strain to the situation.

In his memoir, Harry described Kelly in critical terms, reflecting his frustration during that period. However, reports suggest that Queen Elizabeth II ultimately supported her aide’s position on the matter.

One insider recalled the Queen emphasizing the importance of the tiara, reportedly stating that it was “not a toy.” The comment highlighted the seriousness with which royal traditions and artifacts are treated.

The situation reportedly escalated when the tiara was eventually delivered, with claims that Harry reacted sharply during the exchange. Palace staff later viewed the incident as a result of pre wedding stress.

According to sources, these moments may have contributed to a less than ideal introduction for Meghan within royal circles. What could have been a bonding experience instead became a point of tension.
